Borussia Dortmund plans multiple summer signings as striker options evolve

Borussia Dortmund’s sporting directors confirmed a busy summer transfer window. Striker Serhou Guirassy’s buy‑out clause expires on 15 July, and the club has not received a concrete offer, though interest from Saudi Arabia has been noted. Potential replacements being monitored include Hoffenheim’s Fisnik Asllani, winger Nicolo Tresoldi from Club Brügge, and a rumored approach to Senegalese PSG winger Ibrahim Mbaye. The club’s hierarchy, led by Lars Ricken, also mentioned Fabio Silva as a backup option.

Coach Niko Kovac, after a pre‑season training camp, said the squad is “100 % ready” and that new signings such as Konstantinos Karetsas, Joane Gadou and Justin Lerma are already integrating. Ricken publicly stated the aim to complete “three more really good transfers” before the window closes on 1 September.

Midfielder Kjell Wätjen left Dortmund for Danish side FC Midtjylland on a contract until 2031, with the transfer fee reported around €2.5‑3 million. These moves reflect Dortmund’s strategy to refresh the squad while maintaining a core around Guirassy and emerging talents.
