Borussia Dortmund invests 108 million euros in new talent-focused squad

Borussia Dortmund is implementing a new strategic model focused on recruiting young players with high development potential rather than established stars. The club has invested approximately 108 million euros in new squad members, including Joane Gadou, Konstantinos Karetsas, Joey Veerman, and Giannis Konstanteilias, while generating 38 million euros in transfer revenue.

This aggressive transfer strategy has implications for existing players. Marcel Sabitzer, who joined from FC Bayern München in 2023, faces increased competition in the central midfield. Following the departures of Pascal Groß and Salih Özcan, and the arrival of Joey Veerman, Sabitzer currently sits behind Jobe Bellingham, Felix Nmecha, and Veerman in the squad hierarchy. Given his high salary and preference for Champions League or Saudi Arabian clubs, his future at the club remains a point of discussion.
