Borussia Dortmund outlines summer transfers and test‑match preparations

Borussia Dortmund is shaping its squad for the 2026/27 season under newly appointed sport director Ole Book, who moved to the club after successful spells with SV Elversberg. Book has brought David Blacha from Elversberg as a chief assistant and made his first signing by acquiring 19‑year‑old centre‑back Joane Gadou from RB Salzburg for roughly €20 million. The club has also secured South American talents Kaua Prates (Cruzeiro) and Justin Lerma (Independiente) among other arrivals, while confirming departures such as Julian Brandt, Salih Özcan and Niklas Süle (retirement).

Daily BVB updates note a summer preparation schedule that includes a friendly against Fortuna Düsseldorf on 25 July and a 3‑1 victory over Rot‑Weiß Oberhausen, where newcomers Justin Lerma and Takato Yamamoto impressed. The club flags Konstantinos Karetsas as a top target and reports that Nico Schlotterbeck’s release clause has now expired.
