Bundesliga: Dortmund and Köln face critical matchups

Several key Bundesliga fixtures are scheduled for the weekend of October 24, 2026. Borussia Dortmund hosts Eintracht Frankfurt at Signal Iduna Park, a match that could see Dortmund move to the top of the table. Dortmund enters the game with a strong defense, conceding only four goals in six matches, while Frankfurt has struggled defensively, conceding 16 goals so far this season. Eintracht Frankfurt is also navigating organizational changes following the departure of sporting director Markus Krösche.

In another significant matchup, 1. FC Köln hosts Schalke 04 at RheinEnergieStadion. Köln remains unbeaten at home this season, while Schalke is fighting to stay out of the relegation zone. Due to the rivalry, Cologne police have designated the match as a high-risk event, deploying both riot police and plainclothes officers to prevent violence and manage fan groups.

Additionally, Schalke's youth academy faces a double derby against Borussia Dortmund, with both the U19 and U17 squads competing in high-stakes matches against their local rivals.
