Borussia Dortmund rules out Felix Nmecha transfer to Newcastle

Borussia Dortmund sporting director Ole Book told the press that a summer move for midfielder Felix Nmecha to Premier League side Newcastle United is "highly unlikely". While acknowledging that "astronomical offers" could be made, Book said he can "pretty safely rule it out this summer".

Newcastle have been linked with Nmecha as a possible replacement for Bruno Guimarães, who is reportedly close to a move to Arsenal. Dortmund have placed an approximate €100 million valuation on Nmecha for an immediate sale, but his contract extension until 2030 contains a release clause (€80 million in 2027, dropping to €70 million a year later) that cannot be triggered in the current transfer window. No official offer from Newcastle has been reported, and Dortmund expect the German international to remain with the club.

The club’s statement comes amid routine summer transfer speculation, with Dortmund emphasizing continuity in their squad for the upcoming season.
