Borussia Dortmund sees strong start for senior and U23 teams

Borussia Dortmund is experiencing a successful start to the 2026/27 season across both its professional and youth ranks. The senior team, led by Niko Kovac, currently sits at the top of the Bundesliga table after winning all four of its opening matches and recording three clean sheets.

The club's success is attributed to strategic transfer market activity under sporting director Nils Ole Book, which focused on young talent such as Konstantinos Karetsas, Giannis Konstantelias, Joey Veerman, and Joane Gadou, as well as Ethan Nwaneri on loan from Arsenal.

Simultaneously, the Borussia Dortmund U23 squad, coached by Daniel Rios, is performing strongly in the Regionalliga West. The team remains undefeated after nine matchdays and currently holds third place in the standings, positioning them as contenders for the championship and promotion to Liga 3.
