Borussia Dortmund takes Bundesliga lead amid rivalry with Bayern Munich

Borussia Dortmund has taken the lead in the Bundesliga after a perfect start to the season, securing four wins and twelve points from four matches. A 1-0 victory against VfB Stuttgart, featuring a decisive goal by Maximilian Beier, propelled the team to the top of the table for the first time in 1,212 days.

Following the win, Dortmund sporting director Lars Ricken issued a challenge to FC Bayern München, stating the club intends to be a challenger and “annoy the Bayern” by not letting them occupy the position they expect. While Ricken praised the team's resilience in passing a “stress test,” he cautioned against looking too far ahead to the end of the season.

In response, Bayern Munich CEO Jan-Christian Dreesen embraced the role of pursuer, declaring that the club will “hunt” Dortmund. The rivalry has intensified as Dortmund currently sits two points ahead of Bayern in the standings.
