Boryeong City announces marriage and postpartum support for young couples
Boryeong City has announced a new support program for young newlyweds to encourage local settlement and address population decline. Eligible couples, aged 18 to 45, will receive a total of 3 million won in marriage incentives, distributed in annual installments of 1 million won over three years.
To qualify, couples must have registered their marriage after September 10, 2025, and must have maintained continuous residency in Boryeong for at least one year from the date of marriage registration. The full incentive is available to first-time marriages; if only one spouse is a first-time bride or groom, the amount is reduced by 50%. If both spouses have been married previously, they are ineligible.
Additionally, the city is providing postpartum care support to foster a birth-friendly environment. Mothers who use postpartum care centers can receive up to 1.5 million won in cash upon providing proof of expenses. Those who do not use a care center are eligible for 1.5 million won in Boryeong Love Gift Certificates.
