Boryeong Mud Festival 2026 launches as Korea’s first Global Festival, features K‑pop Super Live

The Boryeong Mud Festival 2026 will run from July 24 to August 9 on Daecheon Beach in Boryeong, South Korea. The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism has designated the event an official Global Festival, expanding international programming for its 29th edition, which traditionally draws over a million domestic and foreign visitors.

The program this year includes a K‑pop Super Live night. RED VELVET’s Wendy (Shon Seung‑wan) co‑hosted with Lee Chan‑Won and performed solo, sharing the stage with artists such as STAYC, CRAVITY, H1‑KEY and others. Images of Wendy’s slimmer appearance generated online debate, with some netizens expressing concern for her health while others defended her personal choice.
