Boryung signs MOU with German Aerospace Center for space life sciences

South Korean pharmaceutical company Boryung has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the German Aerospace Center (DLR) to cooperate on space life sciences research and infrastructure utilization.

The partnership aims to integrate DLR’s specific research requirements—including necessary experimental environments, equipment, and operating conditions—directly into the design phase of Boryung’s space research infrastructure. This approach seeks to create a functional testbed tailored to actual scientific demand. The two parties will discuss ways to experiment and verify both jointly discovered research projects and DLR’s independent space medicine studies using Boryung’s facilities.

Boryung intends to use DLR as a primary potential customer to refine its infrastructure before expanding to other research institutions. This follows Boryung’s previous strategic moves in the space sector, including an investment in Axiom Space and the establishment of the joint venture BRAX Space to utilize Axiom’s space infrastructure for domestic business in South Korea.
