Bosai Minerals Group donates 6 MW of power capacity to Guyana

Bosai Minerals Group Guyana Inc. and Guyana Manganese Inc. have donated six 1-megawatt generator sets, totaling 6 MW of generation capacity, to the Government of Guyana. The equipment, which includes power plant accessories, will be managed by Guyana Power and Light Inc. (GPL) to bolster the electricity supply in Region 10 and along the Soesdyke–Linden Highway.

The generator sets are currently located in Port Kaituma, Region One. GPL plans to dismantle, transport, and reassemble the units as a single power plant at a strategic location along the Soesdyke–Linden Highway. This relocation and installation process is expected to be completed within four months. The project aims to support voltage regulation and strengthen grid stability to meet rising residential, commercial, and industrial demand.

This donation is part of a broader effort to expand regional energy capacity. Current initiatives include the construction of three solar farms totaling 15 MW in Linden and a new substation at Kuru Kururu. Additionally, Bosai is constructing a 10 MW solar farm in Region 10, which is expected to be operational by 2028.
