Bosch to restructure German operations to boost competitiveness

Bosch has announced a major organizational restructuring in Germany, effective August 1, 2027. The company will transition its Mobility division and three central service units—Bosch Digital, Global Business Services, and Global Real Estate—into four separate, wholly-owned legal entities (GmbHs).

This move aims to increase entrepreneurial freedom, streamline decision-making processes, and enhance customer focus. The restructuring is a response to growing competitive pressure, particularly from Asian markets, and a decline in operating margins within the automotive supplier industry. Approximately 62,500 employees in Germany will have their employment contracts transferred to these new entities.

Following the reorganization, the parent company, Robert Bosch GmbH, will focus primarily on corporate headquarters and central research and advanced development, employing roughly 3,000 people.
