Bosch to restructure German operations into independent subsidiaries
Technology group Bosch has announced a major reorganization of its German operations to increase agility and competitiveness, particularly against rising competition from Asia. By August 1, 2027, the company will transition its Mobility division, along with central service areas, IT, and real estate, into independent subsidiaries.
Approximately 62,500 employees will transfer to these new legal entities. While the legal employer will change, Bosch stated that existing employment contracts, wages, and working conditions will remain unchanged. The Robert Bosch GmbH will function primarily as a parent company focusing on group management, central research, and advanced development, employing roughly 3,000 people.
The Mobility division remains the group’s largest segment, contributing approximately 60 percent of total revenue in 2025 with 55.8 billion euros. CEO Christian Fischer noted that the restructuring aims to accelerate decision-making and allow the division to react more swiftly to market changes and customer needs.
