Bosnia and Herzegovina audit reveals misuse of official cars and nearly 1 million KM in ministerial travel

The state audit office of Bosnia and Herzegovina released a report documenting irregularities in several public agencies. It found that officials of the Postal Services Agency used official vehicles while on sick leave, exceeded fuel limits, and logged travel without documented purpose. The audit also highlighted hiring without competitive procedures, payments to employees who did not perform work, and the use of contract work for large sums.

A separate review of four ministries – Justice, Foreign Affairs, Communications and Transport, and Foreign Trade and Economic Relations – showed ministers and their staff spent almost one million convertible marks on trips, including weekend travel and expenses that exceeded the legal entitlement.

Both investigations point to systematic misuse of public funds and raise concerns about accountability within Bosnia and Herzegovina’s government institutions.
