Bosnia and Herzegovina bans 5 tons of Italian food imports

Federal sanitary and market inspections have banned the import of five tons of various food products originating from Italy at the Izačić border crossing. The shipment, totaling 5,000 kilograms, included vegetable products, grains, spices, and vegetable oil.

The ban was issued because the products were improperly declared, violating the Law on the Health Correctness of Food and General Use Items and the Law on Food. Because the declarations did not comply with current regulations, the shipment cannot enter the market of Bosnia and Herzegovina and has been ordered to be returned to the sender.

The Federal Administration for Inspection Affairs (FUZIP) reminded food importers that all products intended for the Bosnian market must be properly declared with accurate, clear, and legible information to ensure consumer safety and enable effective traceability by authorities.
