Bosnia and Herzegovina beats Qatar 3-1 to stay in World Cup race

Bosnia and Herzegovina defeated Qatar 3‑1 in a Group B match of the 2026 FIFA World Cup on June 24 in Seattle, Washington. Goals came from Kerim Alajbegović, an own‑goal by Qatar goalkeeper Mahmoud Abunada, and a late strike by Ermin Mahmic.

The win gave Bosnia four points, placing them third in the group and keeping alive the possibility of advancing as one of the best third‑placed teams. Qatar remained on one point and was eliminated from the tournament. The match also followed a recent five‑match FIFA ban on Qatar defender Assim Madibo for a tackle that broke a Canadian player's leg earlier in the group stage.
