Bosnia and Herzegovina Court to Issue Verdict in Dusina War Crime Case

The Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina is scheduled to deliver a first-instance verdict on October 30 against Šerif Patković. Patković, a former commander of the Second Battalion of the Seventh Muslim Brigade of the Army of the Republic of Bosnia and Herzegovina, is accused of a war crime committed in the village of Dusina near Zenica in January 1993.

The indictment alleges that Patković killed Zvonko Rajić, a local commander of the Croatian Defence Council (HVO), while Rajić was already wounded and lying on the ground. The incident occurred during a period of intensifying Croat-Bosniak conflicts in central Bosnia.

On the same day, the court will also hold a hearing for several other defendants, including Draga Vujanić and Milan Ivanić, who face charges of crimes against humanity related to the unlawful detention and mistreatment of non-Serb civilians in the Sanski Most and Manjača areas.
