Bosnia and Herzegovina deposit insurance covers up to 50,000 KM
In Bosnia and Herzegovina, the Agency for Deposit Insurance provides a guarantee for bank deposits in the event of a bank's insolvency. This protection covers individual claims up to a maximum of 50,000 KM, regardless of the currency or the type of account, including savings, current, and term deposits.
To ensure coverage, depositors are advised to verify that their specific bank is a member of the insurance system. While the guarantee applies automatically to all member banks, any amount exceeding the 50,000 KM limit is not covered by the agency and must be claimed through bankruptcy proceedings alongside other creditors.
