Bosnia and Herzegovina drivers face rising winter tire costs

Drivers in Bosnia and Herzegovina, particularly in Banja Luka and Republika Srpska, are facing significantly higher costs for winter tire preparation as the legal requirement for winter equipment returns on November 1.

Local tire service experts report that the cost for basic services—removing summer tires, mounting winter tires, and balancing—now averages between 60 and 80 KM. Individual tire mounting costs have risen from approximately 10–12 KM per wheel to between 15 and 20 KM, depending on rim size.

Additional expenses include tire storage services, which cost between 30 and 50 KM per season. For those needing new tires, prices vary widely: budget options range from 50 to 70 KM per unit, mid-range tires cost 80 to 110 KM, and premium models can exceed 150 KM for smaller sizes, reaching over 300 KM for larger vehicles. A full set of mid-range tires with installation can cost a driver between 400 and 500 KM, while larger rims can push total costs above 800 KM.
