Sarajevo Canton police acquire first Bell 412EPX helicopter for rescue and security
The Ministry of Interior of Sarajevo Canton has added a Subaru Bell 412EPX helicopter to its fleet, valued at 30.3 million KM (VAT‑free). The aircraft was officially presented on 27 July at the Igman training centre, marking the creation of a new Helicopter Unit for the cantonal police.
The helicopter will be deployed for police interventions, search‑and‑rescue missions, medical evacuations and fire‑fighting operations. Officials at the ceremony included Cantonal Prime Minister Nihad Uk, Federal Interior Minister Ramo Isak, Cantonal Interior Minister Admir Katica, Federation Vice‑President Igor Stojanović and U.S. Embassy chargé d’affaires John Ginkel. Authorities said the aircraft will serve not only the Sarajevo Canton but the whole of Bosnia‑Herzegovina and can provide international assistance when required.
