Bosnia and Herzegovina explores sports as a driver for tourism and economic growth

As part of the European Union's Generation Change program, students in Bosnia and Herzegovina participated in debates regarding the potential for sports to catalyze tourism and economic development. The discussions, held at the University of Zenica, focused on how sporting successes can be leveraged to create new opportunities for youth and local communities.

Luigi Soreca, Head of the EU Delegation to Bosnia and Herzegovina, emphasized that investing in local sports infrastructure, modern facilities, and young talent can transform the country's sporting spirit into long-term economic benefits. Participants examined how sports can attract international visitors and generate revenue for local businesses, including hotels and restaurants.
