Bosnia and Herzegovina exporters prepare for new EU regulations
The Foreign Trade Chamber of Bosnia and Herzegovina is organizing professional workshops to prepare domestic companies for new European Union regulatory requirements. These sessions focus on two major frameworks: the Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism (CBAM) and the Packaging and Packaging Waste Regulation (PPWR).
The CBAM workshops, held in Tešanj and Mostar, aim to provide practical information on emission reporting, data exchange with suppliers, and the financial impact of carbon certificates. This initiative is supported by the EU and the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) through the Responsible Business Hub.
Simultaneously, workshops regarding the PPWR were held in Sarajevo and Banja Luka to address the impact of new EU packaging rules on exporters. With the regulation's application set to begin in August 2026, officials emphasize that companies must begin collecting data and preparing technical documentation now to maintain competitiveness in the EU market, despite ongoing uncertainty regarding certain implementing guidelines.
