Bosnia and Herzegovina football team clinches 2026 World Cup knockout spot, praised by Qatar ambassador

Qatar’s ambassador to Bosnia and Herzegovina, Meshal bin Ali Al‑Attiyah, congratulated foreign minister Elmedin Konaković on June 25 for the national football team’s historic win. The team defeated Qatar 3‑1 on June 24 in Seattle, securing a place in the knockout phase of the 2026 FIFA World Cup. In his message, the ambassador said the achievement “reflects the spirit of determination and unity of the players and the Bosnian‑Herzegovinian people” and praised the nation’s growing reputation on the international sports stage.
