Bosnia and Herzegovina Handball Federation Collapses Amid Legal and Financial Crisis

The Handball Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina (Rukometni savez BiH) has effectively ceased to operate. Its official website is down and the player registration database has been erased, leaving clubs unable to register new athletes or process basic administrative tasks. The federation’s assembly held on 10 March saw its decisions rejected by the Ministry of Justice because the documentation was deemed invalid, stripping the body of legal continuity.

The organization is burdened with large debts to the Federation’s tax authority dating back to 2015, and its head coach, Damir Doborac, has worked for 19 months without salary. Without urgent state intervention, the upcoming season and the national team’s preparation for European qualifiers are in jeopardy, risking a complete shutdown of handball activities in the country.
