Bosnia and Herzegovina health workers' wage hike and strike talks
The Ministry of Health and Social Policy of Central Bosnia Canton said no official notice had reached it regarding a possible exodus of doctors, despite media reports and union announcements of planned strike action. The Doctors and Dentists Union informed the ministry that it is preparing a strike, and an arbitration panel will determine which services must remain operational.
In the same region, the Government of Hercegbosanska županija approved amendments to the collective health‑care contracts, raising the hourly wage for all health‑care staff to 3.5 KM and introducing new job‑complexity coefficients for doctors. The changes come after months of stalled negotiations and impending contract deadlines, aiming to improve staff remuneration and avert further resignations.
