Bosnia and Herzegovina holds EU health funding workshop and adopts EU accession declaration in Sarajevo

On 11 June 2026, a workshop titled “Opportunities of the EU4Health programme for health institutions of the Sarajevo Canton” took place at Europe House in Sarajevo. The event, organised by the Ministry of Civil Affairs of Bosnia and Herzegovina, aimed to inform health‑care providers, public institutions and NGOs about how to apply for EU4Health and Horizon funding. Representatives of the ministry and experts presented application conditions, shared best‑practice examples and held a Q&A and networking session.

Two days earlier, on 8 June 2026, the first day of the EPP Enlargement Study Visit & Conference was held in Sarajevo. Leaders of the European People’s Party (EPP) and Bosnian parties signed a joint declaration outlining the country’s path toward EU membership. Signatories included EPP President Manfred Veber, Bosnian party leaders Bakir Izetbegović (SDA), Dragan Čović (HDZ BiH), Branko Blanuša (SDS) and others. The declaration stressed support for peace, territorial integrity, the rule of law and the implementation of judgments from the BiH Constitutional Court and the European Court of Human Rights.
