Bosnia and Herzegovina hosts 23rd annual lying competition

The 23rd annual lying competition, titled ‘Lie Well and Stay Alive!’, is being held in the Blidinje Nature Park in southern Bosnia and Herzegovina. The event, hosted at the Hajducke Vrleti hospitality site within the symbolic Mijat Tomic Hajdu Republic, invites participants to present the most believable, creative, and entertaining fictional stories to win over a jury and the audience.

Politicians are strictly excluded from the competition. According to the organizers, the contest is intended solely for amateurs, whereas politicians are considered “professional liars.” This exclusion has been a part of the competition rules since its inception in 2003. Over the past two decades, the event has grown into one of the most well-known humorous gatherings in the region.
