Sarajevo to host international circular economy conference
Sarajevo will host an international conference titled ‘Waste-Resource for the Development of a Circular Economy’ on September 7 and 8. Supported by the Government of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, the event aims to transform waste management from an environmental challenge into an economic resource that drives investment and competitiveness.
The conference will bring together representatives from government, industry, academia, and international organizations to discuss EU standards, industrial decarbonization, and digital solutions for the green transition. It seeks to strengthen public-private dialogue and exchange regional best practices for sustainable resource management.
In a related regional development effort, the Municipality of Travnik has issued a call for local businesses and tourism organizations to participate in the EKOBIS 2026 international ecology fair. Scheduled for September 10–13, 2026, in Bihać, the fair will include the EKOTOUR tourism fair and the international crafts fair, providing a platform for Travnik to promote its economic and tourism potential under the ‘Via delle Cascate’ project.
