Bosnia and Herzegovina hosts two folklore festivals preserving tradition
The cultural society HKUD Topala‑Nadioci is organizing the 15th‑anniversary "Nadioci – večer folklora" on 8 August. The event brings together folklore groups from across the region to showcase traditional songs, dances and customs, continuing a fifteen‑year tradition of promoting local cultural heritage.
Separately, the Association for the Preservation of Tradition and Development of Cultural‑Artistic Creation "Bašlija" is holding the 10th International Festival of Folklore for Children and Youth, titled "Čuvari tradicije". Artistic director Lamija Džaferović‑Zulfić highlighted participation from Bosnia and Herzegovina, Albania, Romania, Montenegro and Bulgaria, with performances in Konjic, the Multimedia Centre in Ilidža and a closing ceremony in Jajce. The festival combines folk performances with modern dance sections, aiming to nurture tradition among younger generations.
