Bosnia and Herzegovina Issues Orange Heat Warning as Temperatures Near 40°C

The Federal Hydrometeorological Service of Bosnia and Herzegovina has issued an orange warning for the Herzegovina region because daytime temperatures are expected to reach 33‑40 °C between June 27 and 30. The alert advises people, especially the elderly and very young, to limit outdoor activities, stay hydrated and follow health guidance to avoid heat‑related illnesses.

On the same day a range of domestic announcements were made: the Federation government unveiled more than 1.7 million KM in new funding for preschool facilities, the Tuzla university entrance exam was scheduled for 2 July, coinciding with a Bosnia‑USA World Cup match, and a joint crisis‑response exercise involving EUFOR, the BiH armed forces and police agencies was held at Tuzla International Airport. Additional items included the final stage of road reconstruction on the Gornja Lipnica‑Mujino brdo route, financial‑support agreements with religious communities for infrastructure projects, a workshop on youth trauma at the Faculty of Philosophy in Tuzla, and the upcoming “Regional Energy Security and Sustainable Investment Cycle” conference in Tuzla on June 29‑30.
