Bosnia and Herzegovina launches judicial network for media communication

The High Judicial and Prosecutorial Council of Bosnia and Herzegovina (VSTV) approved the establishment of a Pravosudna mreža – a judicial network tasked with coordinating communication between courts, prosecutors and the media. The Council adopted the network’s statutes on 4‑5 March 2026 and, on 15‑16 July, finalised a list of 15 judges and prosecutors who will serve as media liaisons, alongside coordinators from VSTV’s communications unit.

The network is intended to advise judicial institutions on complex communication tasks, ensure the public has reliable contacts within the judiciary, and improve transparency on matters of public interest. Journalists view the move as a positive step but stress that its impact will depend on consistent implementation. Inforadara journalist Amra Brkić‑Čekić warned, “If judges and prosecutors are only available when they want to promote their work and not to explain decisions on matters of public interest, I doubt the network will achieve its goal.”
