Bosnia and Herzegovina legal rulings involve housing compensation and RTV tax disputes

The Constitutional Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina has ruled that the Government of the Federation of BiH and its Prime Minister failed to implement previous decisions regarding compensation for former Yugoslav People's Army (JNA) officers. The dispute concerns military housing purchased before the war, where individuals were unable to secure property rights or returns. The court has referred these cases to the Prosecutor's Office of Bosnia and Herzegovina to assess potential criminal responsibility for the failure to execute binding court decisions.

In a separate legal matter, the Supreme Court of Republika Srpska has reaffirmed the legal basis for BHRT to claim RTV tax funds from Radio-televizija Republike Srpske (RTRS). The dispute involves approximately 7,075,789.07 KM collected by RTRS between January and August 2023, which was not distributed to BHRT as required by law. Despite this ruling, BHRT reports that its accounts remain blocked and intends to pursue further legal action to ensure the collection of the owed funds.
