Bosnia and Herzegovina announces Nations League squad

Bosnia and Herzegovina head coach Sergej Barbarez has announced a 24-man squad for the upcoming UEFA Nations League fixtures in Group B4. The squad includes new call-ups Salko Hamzić, Zinedin Smajlović, and Kenan Busuladžić, alongside returning player Nail Omerović.

Captain Edin Džeko is included in the list, though reports suggest he may not feature in the away matches against Poland and Romania, as the technical staff looks to test new tactical approaches. Džeko is expected to play his final match for the national team on October 2 in Zenica against Sweden.

The team faces a demanding schedule, starting with away matches in Warsaw against Poland on September 25 and in Bucharest against Romania on September 28. This will be followed by home matches in Zenica against Sweden on October 2 and Poland on October 5.

In related staff news, Kenan Hasagić is no longer serving as the national team's goalkeeper coach. Barbarez noted that squad selection was complicated by injuries, lack of playing time for some players, and recent club transfers.
