Bosnia and Herzegovina physics team earns medals at International Olympiad in Colombia
Five Bosnian high‑school students competed at the 56th International Physics Olympiad in Colombia, where more than 400 participants from 94 countries took part. The team secured two bronze medals – Alen Avdibegović and Vuk Janković – and three honorable‑mention awards for Samel Ribić, Stefan Maletić and Bakir Širbegović. It is only the second occasion since 1996 that the entire Bosnian delegation returned with recognitions. The competitors were coached by Majra Šišić Čaluk and Bojan Kovačević.
The achievement highlights the strength of Bosnia and Herzegovina’s secondary‑education system in scientific fields and adds a historic note to the country’s participation in the prestigious competition.
