Bosnia and Herzegovina police intercept nearly 100 migrants at Croatian border

Bosnian border police, in coordination with Croatian authorities, intercepted nearly 100 irregular migrants attempting to cross the border into Croatia via the Sava River. The operation, conducted over two days in the Bosanska Gradiska and Bistrica areas, resulted in the detention of two distinct groups.

The first group consisted of 40 Pakistani and 23 Bangladeshi nationals. The second group included 18 Afghans, 13 Bangladeshis, and 2 Pakistanis. During the operation, authorities seized two boats intended for river crossings and arrested two individuals suspected of human smuggling.

All intercepted individuals were handed over to the Ministry of Security's Service for Foreign Affairs. Data indicates that Bosnia and Herzegovina remains a key transit point on the Balkan route, with the International Organization for Migration noting that the country often sees over 1,100 people per month during summer months.
