Bosnia and Herzegovina poultry producers target EU market expansion
Poultry producers from Bosnia and Herzegovina are aiming to expand their exports to the European Union by introducing Class A eggs and live animals to the market next year. Currently, domestic producers are limited to exporting poultry meat and Class B eggs to the EU.
During a meeting between the Coordination Committee of Poultry Producers of BiH and the Foreign Trade Chamber in Sarajevo, officials noted that the resumption of poultry meat exports on July 1, following a four-month ban, provides a significant opportunity for local producers. To achieve the goal of exporting higher-grade products, producers must meet strict EU veterinary, sanitary, and administrative standards.
Additionally, representatives discussed the 3rd International Poultry Congress, scheduled for May 12–14, 2027, in Teslić. The congress is expected to address topics such as energy efficiency, digitalization, artificial intelligence, animal nutrition, and biosecurity.
