Bosnia and Herzegovina Presidency praises military wildfire response
Denis Bećirović, Chairman of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina, has commended the Armed Forces of Bosnia and Herzegovina for their professionalism and efficiency in assisting civilian authorities during widespread wildfires.
Over the past five weeks, military personnel have been deployed to assist citizens in more than 20 municipalities and cities across the country. During the current mandate of the Presidency, the number of decisions to engage the Armed Forces for civilian assistance has reached 90, a significant increase compared to the previous mandate.
In a recent 24-hour period, the Presidency adopted four decisions to deploy forces to combat fires in the areas of Bihać, Drvar, Prozor-Rama, and Kalesija following requests from the Ministry of Defense. Bećirović stated that the Presidency will continue to review requests from civilian authorities to provide timely assistance wherever it is needed.
