Bosnia and Herzegovina: Public debt rises and property acquisitions continue
In Bosnia and Herzegovina, several public and private financial developments have been reported. The Republic Civil Protection Administration is planning to purchase new properties in Bratunac, Sokac, and Trebinje. In Banja Luka, a new draft amendment to the regulatory plan for the ‘Paprikovac-Petrićevac’ area may allow for the legalization of the ‘Lukić-investa’ building, which was previously slated for demolition.
On the financial front, the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina has seen its debt increase by 1.57 billion KM in just six months. Additionally, the Elektroprivreda Republike Srpske (ERS) has utilized factoring to meet obligations to suppliers, recently paying 10 million KM through this method to cover costs that the entity could not meet otherwise.
In the private sector, businessman Ljubo Ćubić successfully avoided the sale of 81 vehicles belonging to ‘Niskogradnja’ by paying 511,525 KM to cover debts, interest, and legal costs.
