Bosnia and Herzegovina pursues Barcelona talent Mirza Ćatović

Bosnia and Herzegovina has intensified efforts to recruit Mirza Ćatović, a 19-year-old defensive midfielder currently playing for Barcelona B. The young player, who was born in Serbia and raised in Germany, has previously represented Germany at the youth international level.

According to reports from the Catalan outlet Sport, Bosnia and Herzegovina's national team director, Emir Spahić, recently traveled to Barcelona to watch Ćatović play in person. While Serbia previously attempted to recruit him for their youth European Championship squad, Ćatović declined the call.

Ćatović joined Barcelona on a loan from Stuttgart worth 600,000 euros, with a potential buyout option estimated between five and ten million euros. Standing 190 centimeters tall, the left-footed midfielder has drawn comparisons to Spanish international Rodri due to his technical ability and tactical discipline.
