Bosnia and Herzegovina raises pensions by 3.5% temporarily
The Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina will apply a provisional 3.5% pension increase for July, announced by Labor and Social Policy Minister Adnan Delić. The adjustment is based on preliminary consumer‑price data from the Federal Statistical Office and will be paid at the beginning of August.
Delić stressed that the increase is not final; the definitive regular adjustment will be calculated in mid‑August once all official statistics are released. If the final figure exceeds 3.5%, the difference will be paid retroactively, including the July pensions, with the full payout expected in early September. He also reminded that pension levels are set by law, not by the minister, prime minister, or government, and quoted the law stating, “Nitko nema pravo da umirovljenicima poveća usklađivanje zato što to želi, niti da ga umanji.”
