Bosnia and Herzegovina secures $9.2 million IFAD grant for agricultural climate resilience
The Council of Ministers of Bosnia and Herzegovina has approved a financing agreement with the International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD) to increase climate change resilience in the agricultural sector. The grant, totaling over $9.2 million in non-repayable funds, is designated to support 71 municipalities across the country, with a specific focus on socio-economically vulnerable rural communities.
The funding will be distributed between the two entities of Bosnia and Herzegovina, with $5.04 million allocated to the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina and $4.17 million allocated to Republika Srpska. The project aims to provide systemic responses to ecological and economic challenges by strengthening adaptive capacities in agriculture and supporting rural development.
