The Bosnia and Herzegovina national football team (the Zmajevi) ended their World Cup campaign in the United States with a 0‑2 defeat to the hosts in the round of 16. After the tournament the squad began returning to the Balkans and Austria.

In Graz, Bosnia‑Herzegovinian midfielder Amar Dedić was greeted at a local mosque, where he gave a short speech and listened to the call to prayer, drawing enthusiastic applause. Similar warm receptions awaited other players, including Ermin Mahmić and Arjan Malić, who were welcomed with chants and applause in Austria.

In Sarajevo some members arrived without an organized welcome, but captain Edin Džeko was met by his daughters Dalija and Hana, his wife Amra and other family members, sharing an emotional homecoming. A media report noted speculation about Džeko’s possible retirement from international duty.

The national air‑traffic authority BHANSA posted a video greeting the team with the words “Zmajevi, dobrodošli kući!” (Zmajevi, welcome home!). Additionally, Ajla Mihailović, wife of former U.S. international Đorđe Mihailović, posted a supportive message to the Bosnian fans on social media.
