Balkan economies show varying wage and growth trends

Economic indicators across the Balkan region show varying trends in wages, inflation, and growth. In Serbia, the average net salary reached 121,346 dinars in July, though the median salary was significantly lower at 95,036 dinars. Computer programming remains the highest-paying sector, while agriculture faces challenges with rising costs for products like eggs and meat. Economic expert Milojko Arsić projects Serbian economic growth above 3% for the year, despite potential inflationary pressures and agricultural adjustments due to drought.

In Bosnia and Herzegovina, the average net salary was 1,732 KM (approximately 885.56 euros), with the information and communications sector leading in earnings. The Federal Ministry of Agriculture has also disbursed over 18.4 million KM to milk producers for the second quarter.

Regional comparisons highlight Slovenia as the leader in average net wages at 1,695.34 euros. Montenegro follows with an average of 1,037 euros, while Croatia reported average net salaries of 1,540 euros. Long-term GDP data suggests that while Serbia has seen growth, its cumulative GDP increase since 2012 has trailed behind some regional peers like Hungary and Croatia.
