Weather forecast: Warmth followed by rain and cooling in the Balkans
A significant weather shift is expected across the Balkan region following a period of sunny and warm autumn weather. Most areas, including Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia, and Montenegro, will experience mild temperatures reaching up to 25-28 degrees Celsius during the early part of the week.
Starting Wednesday, a transition toward more unstable conditions is forecasted. Meteorologists predict increased cloud cover, rain, and localized thunderstorms. In Bosnia and Herzegovina, the Federal Hydrometeorological Institute (FHMZ) warns of heavy rainfall, particularly in the Herzegovina region, accompanied by strong southern winds (jugo) that may reach stormy levels.
By Thursday and Friday, a cold front is expected to move through, bringing a noticeable drop in temperatures and more widespread precipitation. In Croatia, coastal areas may experience strong winds, while inland temperatures are expected to fall significantly, returning to typical autumn levels.
