Bosnia-Herzegovina schedules board meeting to advance VAT refund on first homes
Finance Minister Srđan Amidžić announced that a new session of the UIO Management Board will be held on Monday to revive the regulation on returning value‑added tax (VAT) to buyers of their first property. The minister said the initiative targets all citizens of Republika Srpska and the Federation of Bosnia‑Herzegovina who have not yet resolved their housing needs, noting that each eligible buyer could receive at least 25,000 KM.
Amidžić acknowledged objections from members of the Federation but asserted that the policy will proceed, emphasizing that the measure is a presidential initiative aimed at the benefit of people across the whole country, not a partisan issue.
