Bosnia‑Herzegovina celebrates traditional village games in Vrhovac and Derventa

The cultural‑artistic society KUD Vrhovac organized the 23rd edition of the "Stare seoske igre" in Vrhovac on July 18‑19, 2026. The two‑day program included performances by several folk groups, a children’s folklore segment, a mass, and a concert by the band D’Band, with local officials welcoming participants and emphasizing the preservation of regional heritage.

On July 25, 2026, the "Igre na Stevića mlinu" festival was held at Stevića mill in Drijen near Derventa. Organized by Konoba "Kod Bate" in cooperation with the ASK Vitezovi Derventa sports club and supported by the city of Derventa, the event featured traditional competitions such as sand volleyball, stone‑throwing, rope pulling and other village games. Teams from across the region were invited to compete and enjoy the communal atmosphere. "Cilj manifestacije da vrati duh nekadašnjih seoskih okupljanja" (the goal is to bring back the spirit of old village gatherings).
