Bosnian authors achieve international literary recognition

Bosnian authors are achieving international literary recognition through new publications. Vildana Stanišić has had her poem ‘Ah, Aka’ published in the Spanish literary magazine Azahar. The poem serves as a tribute to musician Almir Hukelić, known as Aka, connecting his musical expression and the tradition of sevdah to Bosnian identity.

Additionally, Maida Vugdalić, a promoter of Bosnian language and culture in Australia, has released her debut bilingual poetry collection, ‘Moja polovina zvijezde / My Half of a Star’. Published by the Sarajevo-based association Nova Svjetlost, the work explores themes of love, identity, and diaspora, bridging the cultural connection between Bosnia and Herzegovina and Australia.
