Bosnian-born politicians elected to Swedish Riksdag

Following the final results of the Swedish parliamentary elections, three politicians with roots in Bosnia and Herzegovina have been confirmed for the new Riksdag term.

Azra Muranović Mujagić, a Social Democrat born in Prijedor, will retain her seat. A political scientist by training, she has previously engaged in parliamentary inquiries regarding the role of the High Representative and international stability in Bosnia and Herzegovina. Denis Begić, originally from Bosanska Gradiška, has also been re-elected as a Social Democrat representing the Örebro constituency, with a mandate lasting until September 2030.

Additionally, Umihana Rašović, who was born in Sjenica, has entered the Riksdag for the first time as a representative of the Left Party. Rašović, who works in local government in Eslöv, focused her campaign on social policy, healthcare, and labor rights.
