Bosnian clinical centers seek cooperation with Eurotransplant
The Clinical Center of the University of Sarajevo (KCUS) and the University Clinical Hospital Mostar have formally expressed interest in establishing cooperation with Eurotransplant member states. The Ministry of Civil Affairs of Bosnia and Herzegovina received official letters from both institutions regarding the conclusion of Teaching and Training Agreements (TTA).
Signing these agreements would enable direct cooperation between Bosnian transplant centers and those in Eurotransplant member countries. This could potentially allow Bosnian patients to participate in organ exchange systems through partner centers, subject to specific conditions and approvals, while fulfilling prerequisites for full Eurotransplant membership.
KCUS aims to develop transplantation programs for the heart, lungs, kidneys, liver, pancreas, intestines, and cornea through collaboration with centers in Ljubljana and Zagreb. Similarly, the University Clinical Hospital Mostar seeks to expand its kidney and heart transplantation programs, establish liver transplantation, and develop cornea transplantation and eye banks, while strengthening organizational and logistical capacities in cooperation with leading centers in Slovenia and Croatia.
