Bosnia's disability fund expands employment incentives to 50% impairment level
The Fund for Professional Rehabilitation and Employment of Persons with Disability in Bosnia and Herzegovina adopted new regulations that significantly broaden support for disabled workers. For the first time, persons with a confirmed disability level of 50% can receive a cash employment incentive under general conditions and take part in professional rehabilitation programmes.
The changes create a basis for stronger inclusion of disabled persons in the open labour market, while also offering support to employers across public institutions, local authorities, public enterprises and other legal entities. Minister of Labour and Social Policy Adnan Delić said the reforms correct a long‑standing injustice that excluded many disabled citizens from employment aid.
In the coming months the Fund will publish public calls totalling 20.3 million KM: 12 million KM for new employment incentives for 2026 and 8.3 million KM for financing sustainable employment, development of hiring companies, protective workshops and professional rehabilitation programmes. Applicants will be able to request up to 7,000 KM for education, qualification, training, assistive devices and other needs.
